Frequently Asked Questions:

What hours do you work?
Generally I am in the office Monday through Thursday from 8:00AM to 5:30PM. I work one or more evenings a week.

Do you have evening and weekend hours?
In an effort to be available I do work at least one evening a week. Depending on my schedule, the evening(s) I am available changes from time to time. Unfortunately these times are often full. Occasionally I am available for some early morning times at 7:30 or 8am.

Do you take insurance?
Yes. I am a Blue Cross provider, including for BCBS FEP contracts. For all other insurance plans I am out of network. I do often see Health Partners, Medica and other HMO clients, but only as an out of network provider. You may call your insurance to ask if you have out of network coverage. The deductible and co-pays are usually somewhat higher for out of network services. I do have a billing person and offer her services to submit your insurance claims.

How long are your sessions, and how often do you see clients?
Typically I have two session lengths — 50 minutes and 75 minutes. Both of these are covered by insurance, and my fees vary accordingly. Clients are free to decide the length of their sessions. I prefer the longer, 75 minute session for Intakes and couple sessions. Clients choose how often they come in. I see most people either weekly or bi-weekly, but sometimes I may see someone more often, as needed, or less often as people are phasing out of therapy or coming in quarterly for a "tune up."

What are your fees?
My Intake fees are $155 for a regular 50 minute Intake and $220 for a 75 minute Intake. Then, my ongoing fees are $130 for a 50 minute and $195 for a 75 minute session. The increased Intake fees are due to the added time it takes to write up our Intake and family history, and for me to begin to get to know you. In the end we have a contract of our work together and goals clearly stated which will help us evaluate the success of our work.

Do you have any discount for people paying out of pocket?
Yes, I do have a professional discount policy and will be happy to send or email you a sheet outlining my discount rates if you request it.

How do you prefer to be paid?
I prefer to be paid at the time of each session, if at all possible. If you are a BCBS client you pay me only the co-pays (if there are any). All other clients pay me the entire fee up front, and then, are reimbursed by their insurance company personally. If paying each time is problematic, we can discuss other arrangements. I accept cash, checks and credit cards.
