Providing Individual, Adult Psychotherapy

As a practicing psychologist for over 30 years I bring a wide range of experience to my work with individuals. People often come when they are hurting deeply about some loss or alienation, depression or anxiety, or some crisis in their lives. I see it as my primary responsibility to listen deeply, to understand with empathy and compassion, and to see if and how I can offer both support and skillfulness in guiding that person to a more centered and grounded personal place. Exploring both feelings and thinking styles are often a central focus of our work. Yet, because I believe in the dynamic interplay of mind, body and spirit, my approach is often holistic.

Often our choices as human beings come down to facing old habits and patterns that we come to realize are self sabotaging or self destructive. We may need to do the hard work of deciding and disciplining ourselves to change course, learn new ways of behaving, thinking, and feeling. Facing emotional/mental habits that are creating suffering in our lives is not for the faint hearted, but doing it in tandem with a guide can ease the journey and help in providing a roadmap toward healing and well being.

I feel very blessed to be in this work, meeting other fellow human beings at critical points in their lives and having the rare opportunity to "walk in their moccasins" for a while, hopefully providing heartfelt presence and skillful strategies toward growth.
