What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is essentially a psychological healing process facilitated by the helping relationship between the therapist and the client. The specific goals and experience of the therapy depends upon the client, the therapist, and the particular issues you bring to therapy.

Throughout therapy, it is likely that you, as the client, will experience a range of feelings, memories, and thoughts. As your therapist, we will use a number of strategies and approaches to assist you in processing these.

You can expect positive outcomes in therapy. How long it takes to feel better, or experience resolution to your problems, will depend upon the nature of the problems and the way in which we go about our work together.
